1.31.10 And who is that?
Just there, under a canopy of dead branches. I've been exploring different ways of arranging the stones. and trying to use stones that have weird shapes. this is one of the first ones. I think it looks like a person, uuumm, or something...

1.25.10 Today's wonders
Today was a wonderful monday, i've come to realize that monday may be my favorite day of the week, and it might make sense, i was born in a monday.. oh well. Seancito and I had a lovely day. I thought the sky was gonna explode, it was the perfect medley of dark and light clouds with a deep blue sky. Couldn't help myself and took 1000 pictures. I wish every day was a monday...

1.17.10 Last leaf standing
I love how thru nature one is able to find analogies to almost all aspects of life. this is the last triumphant leaf standing. what it means? again, i don't know. it could mean it all, or nothing at all. But the truth is that every day, every waken hour i keep finding pieces of my life reflected in nature, then transcribed into these pieces of art.

1.10.10 entangle
Entangled sticks, meant to be together by some magic power of destiny. Different kinds of sticks, that found their fate to be here in my wall. I don't know yet what they could mean, but i'm sure it will come. I found myself looking at a different part of it every time, like small pieces of history that i am discovering over and over.

1.8.10 Fallen & Forgotten
The simplest things in life, often the ignored ones are usually the significant ones. Sticks, fallen branches, left to be forgotten and stepped on, their fate... to reunite again with the earth and the soil to once again by the miracle of nature come back some day...
My mission: somehow give them life again, not by the miracle of nature of course but by my own hands.

1.7.10 from inside out
I really love how the perspective of things can be shift around...
I picked up these at the national arboretum, don't quite know what those little dry thingys are..
the beautiful and smooth stones are a courtesy of Matt Hollis, thanks Matt i love all of them!
So, my idea was to go from small to big, from being a small part of a tree to being the tree itself

1.6.10 What lies beyond....
At this point i would love to think i know what i'm doing, but really, i don't... all of these ideas are coming to me like an unexpected storm. So, here i am, i found myself looking at all those stones and sticks and whatever, and i wonder.... where will this go...?
For now, i'll just keep on going, i'll just keep on materializing my crazy ideas, the question is: will the sticks stay stick together...?

1.4.10 Stones and Sticks
I'm experimenting with different possibilities, different designs. The combination of stones and sticks is one of my favorite. I'm still using that wood material as a base. I've been also making different kinds of frames, made of bigger sticks. for now i will keep on using this soft wood, is really easy to work on and to cut. I really like these two pieces, to me they say a lot, they have a personal meaning, the connection of the two of them, once they shared the same forrest, and now reunited by fate they share the same ground again.

Organic sculptures project.
This is stage one of my new project i have been working on. For a long time i've been trying to come up with ideas of organic long lasting mini sculptures. For these mini sculptures i have used dry little pieces of fallen branches and little stones. I am so lucky to live in a city that has lots of parks and places where i can take wonderful walks and also gather some of my organic supplies. I have been exploring different options for the frames, for now i think i will keep using this soft wood material. I am so exited about this new project!!
