3.28.12 Ginkgo an "ecological paradox"

My love for ginkgo grows every day.
They are one of the very few living fossils dating
back to the jurassic time,
Ginkgo evolved in an era before flowering plants exist,
when ferns dominated earth.
Wikipedia calls them an "ecological paradox"...
what in the world could be more awesome than that!?

10.18.11 Reminiscence of last Autumn

I find myself thinking of autumn, i wonder why...
Every year i wait anxiously for this time of the year, i wait for the leaves in the
trees to change color and then i wait for them to fall.
And then every year i find myself being so impatient about it,
is like i can not wait for the magic to start!
This is one of my favorite shots from last year, it was tho taken in
early november.

5.16.11 Ikebana Sogetsu

Today was our first class of Ikebana Sogetsu at the Smithsonian. I can not explain how exited and happy we both were. Our Sensei is the coolest and most awesome lady ever. She has been studying Ikebana for over 30 years and she has been to Japan several times with the official Ikebana school, or something. Any way, it was awesome, we learn all the basics and the we put it to practice. Here is my very first Ikebana arrangement. We got to take it home with all the other flowers and branches we didn't use. I'm so happy and exited i can not wait for next monday!

4.17.11 They move like a dancing dream

the thousand leaves i collected last autumn.
Also used some money tree thingys (don't really know
how to call them)
and this is the outcome. After making a mobile for my
Isabella i had this idea going around my head.
The pictures are awful, and i'm sorry. i had a really hard time
taking them. but i promise, it looks better in person.
