5.10.10 new ideas

I've been thinking of this idea for a while, so, i got meself a printer and started working on a selection of my own pictures to put in the background of some of my pieces. this is the first execution. i took this picture at the Tudors garden in Georgetown. I love the dog and how the sun falls into the grass. In the beginning i was having some issues with what to do so i wouldn't overshadow the picture... anyway, here it is, and i feel this is the beginning of a whole new phase.

4.17.10 My Wall

I love how art and nature change the way we see things. i remember when this wall was just a wall, plain, dull wall. Now it is the host of such precious little things. this are most of the pieces i've created in the past four months. that is how long i've been playing with them. i like the way they look together.

4.17.10 Trapped leaves series

Here is the second piece of my trapped leaves series. I wasn't sure of doing another trapped leaf, i thought it may be a little of repetition, but, Mr. enoughforall advised me that it wasn't repetition, it is a series, and i liked that. So here it is. i love this kind of leaves, they kept their green color and their consistency is hard, they are great to work with.

4.4.10 Trapped Reminiscences

I've collected reminiscences of autumn, little pieces of the puzzle of nature. I've captured this reminiscences just to make them live again... Now spring is here, and a whole universe of possibilities is coming to life once again. This piece makes me wish i could trap all the reminiscences of lost yesterdays.

3.21.10 Nature's fire

Nature fire, fake fire, leaf fire. the idea of this piece came to me thru the shadows, i kept visualizing the shadows when i was working on it. when i glued the first leaves i thought they could be wings... then it just went somewhere else... trying to work with different shapes and forms.

3.9.10 Multiple Suns in the Horizon

I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, so i decided to stop talking about it and start figuring out how to work it out. So, my so called "suns" i have used before, but now i'm using a different perspective, upside down, they are hanging like they did back when they belonged to the tree. I really hope the stay there...

3.3.10 Spiraling away

Life is an spiral, i think, life goes around in a spiral way, and even time is not a flat line like everybody use to think, it's an spiral, follows its spiral course to a dramatic division of fragments of time, that then we store in our memories and we call the past, which continuously visit us in our reminiscences. Just a thought. I love this piece because it took me a good amount of time to finish it, so it has a lot of thought. the twirly thingys i used before i think and i cut them from a green branch that had dangerous thorns. It was a little hard to take the right pic, there is so much detail that the camera doesn't get.

3.2.10 Dualism

I wonder where does creativity go when it goes away... does it go on vacations to some exotic island or does it go to the mountains... does it comes back with a killer tan, or it comes back with gifts for the family... i just wonder, i wonder of endless days that go by with nothing to them... it makes me wonder and at the same time it worries me, but at the end of the day i guess we just have to keep trying to live one day at a time. i just hope that if creativity has to go somewhere sometime, it doesn't take too long to come back. this piece makes me think of the dualism of life.
